Meet John Crown.

John Crown’s debut, “Before I Wake You Up” is a raw, honest depiction of life as we know it. Behind the soulful but rugged backdrops from DJ Semaj, Enstrumental, TrussOne and Xplicit, John Crown’s “blue collar” approach and vivid storytelling are on heavy display throughout the EP.

Recorded in 2009, this EP is finally seeing the light of day. John Crown burst onto the scene earlier this year along with SK (of Sport'n Life Records) on the "She Makes Me Feel Alright" remix. After a brief hiatus, Crown dropped the Mike Weed laced "Shoot for the Stars" in the late spring. The track gained critical acclaim around Tacoma, and rekindled the buzz John Crown started with "The Lilly."

With a new direction, and a new attitude, John Crown is ready to "wake you up." This is just the beginning of a bright career for the Tacoma, Washington emcee.

John Crown is currently working on his next mixtape, Coffee and Beats, which will be released in early 2011.
